Welcome to Google WiFi!The Google Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information when you use Google's products and services, including information provided when you use Google WiFi. In addition, the following describes our privacy practices that are specific to Google WiFi. General Information About Connecting to the Internet via Google WifiGoogle WiFi allows you to connect to the Internet wirelessly from available access points. Once connected, you can do all of the Internet activities wirelessly that you do through tradition wireline access via another Internet Service Provider (ISP). As with wireline Internet access, there are security issues whenever you connect to the Internet. Connecting wirelessly presents special security challenges, so please read this policy, the Google Privacy Privacy and the Google WiFi FAQ carefully. Once connected to the Internet via Google WiFi, you can visit other Google sites or use Google products and services. The Google Privacy Policy and any product-specific privacy notices apply to such usage. Google does not exercise control over the sites you may visit and products you may use while using Google WiFi. These other sites and services may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information from you. You should read the privacy policies of these sites and services to learn how they handle your personal information. Your SecurityGoogle WiFi works by transmitting data over the air via radio waves. Wireless Internet access presents challenges for protecting your information from illegal data interception by third parties. You should consult with a computer technician to ensure your computer is configured correctly for secure wireless access to the Internet and that you have the latest security software and hardware installed. Security threats are constantly evolving, so you should regularly check to be sure that your security protection is up to date. Google WiFi has a log-in requirement to help protect you against unauthorized use of the service or your other accounts. This protection does not create a secure session, however, and you should still take other security steps to protect yourself. You have a wide range of choices among security products and services. We recommend, for example, that you use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) whenever you connect to the Internet wirelessly. Generally, VPNs work by creating a secure connection between your wireless device and the network you are accessing, thus reducing the risk that someone else might gain access to the information you are transmitting. You can download and use any VPN software, whether Google’s own free VPN, Google Secure Access, or any third-party VPN of your choosing, for use with the Google WiFi service. For more information about your security, please see the Google WiFi FAQ. Information CollectedAccount usage information. You need a Google Account (http://www.google.com/privacy_faq.html#account) to use Google WiFi. Google asks for some personal information when you create a Google Account, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account from unauthorized access. A Google Account allows you to access many of the Google services that require registration. We may record information about your usage of Google WiFi, such as when and for how long you use the network and the frequency and size of data transfers. We may collect information about the geographic locations of the Google WiFi nodes through which you connect to the network. On a regular basis, we delete the above account usage information associated with your use of Google WiFi from our logs. Content of communications. Google WiFi does not store the content of any of your online communications or data transfers. Google employees do not access the content of any communications or files users send or receive, except under certain circumstances as described by the Google Privacy Policy. Cookies. When you use Google WiFi, we send one or more cookies -- small strings of characters -- to your computer. These cookies uniquely identify your browser, thus enabling us to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Google WiFi features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. Other Google services. As noted above, this privacy notice is specific to your use of Google WiFi. The Google Privacy Policy and any relevant product-specific privacy notices, which can be found at http://www.google.com/privacy.html, describe how we treat personal information when you use other Google services. Uses We use the above information to maintain the Google WiFi network and deliver the best possible service to you. We may use the locations of the nodes through which you connect to Google WiFi to provide you with information relevant to those locations. Your choices You can delete your Google Account at any time from the Google Accounts page (https://www.google.com/accounts). You may maintain separate Google Accounts for your use of Google WiFi and other Google products and services. As noted above, you have a wide range of choices for protecting your own security online. Please see the Google WiFi FAQ for more information. More information Google adheres to the US Safe Harbor privacy principles.
