Google WiFi Privacy & Security
Welcome to Google WiFi!
General Information About Connecting to the Internet via Google Wifi
Google WiFi allows you to connect to the Internet wirelessly from available access points. Once connected, you can do all of the Internet activities wirelessly that you do through traditional wireline access via another Internet Service Provider (ISP).
As with wireline Internet access, there are security issues whenever you connect to the Internet. Connecting wirelessly presents special security challenges, so please read this information and carefully review other information in the Google WiFi Help Center
Google does not exercise control over the sites you may visit and other services you may use while using Google WiFi. These other sites and services may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information from you. You should read the privacy policies of these sites and services to learn how they handle your personal information.
Google WiFi works by transmitting data over the air via radio waves. Wireless Internet access presents challenges for protecting your information from illegal data interception by third parties. You should consult with a computer technician to ensure your computer is configured correctly for secure wireless access to the Internet and that you have the latest security software and hardware installed. Security threats are constantly evolving, so you should regularly check to be sure that your security protection is up to date.
Google WiFi has a log-in requirement to help protect you against unauthorized use of the service or your other accounts. This protection does not create a secure session, however, and you should still take other security steps to protect yourself.
You have a wide range of choices among security products and services. We recommend, for example, that you use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) whenever you connect to the Internet wirelessly. Generally, VPNs work by creating a secure connection between your wireless device and the network you are accessing, thus reducing the risk that someone else might gain access to the information you are transmitting. You can download and use any VPN software for use with the Google WiFi service. For more information about your security, please see the Google WiFi Help Center
